VW Rolly Sarmiento

“…IGLPI claims that VW Rolly is in their roster and listed as No. 1. GL has to act on this and decide who really has the right to give the NECRO services to avoid embarrassment..” --- GLP member

We have anticipated this situation. The guidance is that we are duly made Master Masons in a duly constituted Lodge and we are BROTHERS forever regardless of Lodge or Grand Lodge affiliation. We anticipate many groups to render their respective honors to the dead. All the acts of our planners WM Ador Ramos of Mendez Nunez Lodge Nr 8 and our Grand Supervisor VW Ed Bayot are to be cleared with the family and with RW Roxy Sarmiento, Grand Auditor IGLPI. We honor the wishes of the family as our basis of action.

The participation of VW Rolly Sarmiento in the planning and formation of IGLPI are known to us. As I said, he is number 1 in the Roster of Members of the Lodge Nr 8.

The PGM YU and GLP Edicts 232s have rendered its verdict in spite of its injustice and Masonic doctrinal anomaly. Its implications and latent consequences are surfacing.

Masonic traditions and teachings states that it is 3 or more Lodges which form Grand Lodges, NOT an assembly of brothers at Kawit. The Lodge, with its members, temples, properties, funds TRANSFER to a new Grand Lodge, unless the member DEMITS, is suspended, expelled or delisted by the Lodge. The OLD Lodge DIE.

But PGM YU, in his act to impede our compliance to a Standard of Recognition of sovereign and full control over our Lodges RESURRECTED the dead Lodges. I have issued Edict Nr 2 declaring them as "NON-LODGES" or phantom lodges. They have NO more Charter to warrant their existence. I have also issued Memorandums to purge the List of Members and to DELIST those active in the non-lodges."Mendez Nunez Lodge Nr 316" is one of those non-lodges.

The body of VW Rolly will lie at the Mendez Nunez Lodge Nr 8 Temple. Let BROTHERLY LOVE prevail. We will meet on the LEVEL and part by the SQUARE. We UNITE in the outpouring of our love and affection to a BROTHER and a MASON. The occasion will manifest the HARMONY of Cavite Masons.

Moving On and Forward

by King_Solomon636
27 June 2007

The wisdom and insight of VW Raul S. A. Laman regarding the customs and traditions of the craft is greatly appreciated. Too bad it came out a little late for the ANCOM... but surely is never late for the enlightenment of the brethren. You see until now, roughly 2 years from the establishment of the IGLPI, many are still in the dark of what has happened to Cavite, and are instructed or told to treat masons of the IGLPI as clandestine. A true mason will know the definition of a clandestine mason while a fool will believe with hearsays and propaganda. In truth, many did join the IGLPI due to their dismay on how the issue and crisis was treated by the GM.

In a growing masonic district, in any jurisdiction, It is essential that harmony be preserved at outmost importance, harmony being the strenght of all societies especially of ours. And in this consideration, men has deviced a way as to how this will be preserved. As in many districts in the country, Cavite chose to have a gentlemen's agreement so as to keep the district in harmony and undivided.

Ang gentlemen's agreement na ito ang nagpatahimik sa distrito sa loob ng mahigit dalawang dekada, only to be destabilized by someone from the outside of the district.

Now again this maybe moot and academic as the verdict had been already laid down last ANCOM. We are moving on and forward. As I've said, future generations of masons will judge us as on how we treated the issue. But indeed it is nice to hear that not all brethren were convinced of the validity of the decision and commending them for their resolve and the strenght of their character as a man and mason. Masonic injustices may have prevailed now, but not for long. For brethren will gradually realize, hopefully sooner than later, that there will never be no other tenets more powerful and enduring than brotherly love, relief, and truth.

IGLPI Joins 109th Independence Day Celebrations

The Most Worshipful Independent Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippine Islands (IGLPI) joined the 109th Independence Day Celebrations at Kawit, Cavite on June 12, 2007. The Grand Master, MW Jaime V Bantolo with his Deputy Grand Master RW Nicolas Ricafrente, the Senior Grand Warden RW Manuel Carranza Jr, the Junior Grand Warden RW Joseph Capuyan, together with other Grand Line Officers, District Officers, and the Officers and members of 8 Lodges under its grand jurisdiction numbering more than 60 MM paraded from vicinity Panamitan, Kawit to the President General Brother Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine for the celebrations.( June 12 was not declared a holiday).

The IGLPI contingent was led by the Grand Marshall thence the Grand Lodge streamers, lodges standards and banners; thence the Grand Officers and followed by the rest of the Lodge members. Immediately following was the contingent of the Knights of Columbus, thence the members of the Grand Logia Regional de Filipinas of the Grand Oriente Espanol; and thence the contingent from the GLP. The IGLPI contingent occupied almost half of the right front seats facing the shrine mot just for better view but for significant importance attached to Bro Emilio Aguinaldo who was the first WM of Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Lodge Nr 31 and now renumbered No 5 under the IGLPI.

The ceremonies were graced by the presence of Vice President Noli de Castro, Congressman Joseph Emilio Aguinaldo Abaya, Governor Ayong Maliksi of Cavite, Mayor Brother Hit Poblete of Kawit ( EAM Lodge Nr 5 IGLPI ), former Prime Minister Bro Cesar Virata ( Jacobo Zobel Lodge Nr 202 ), local government officials, church dignitaries, government institutions, NGOs, the Aguinaldo clan, the military and police including the Provincial Commander Bro Fidel Posadasf ( Jose Rizal Lodge Nr 270 ).

The IGLPI, the GLRF, and GLP rubbed elbows and got along fine greeting each other and conversing of other matters than masonry. MW Jim Bantolo shooked hands and greeted RW Pacifico Aniag and DDGM VW Delfin Narvaez of the GLP.

Seventeen (17) IGLPI members were accredited with VIP invitations and stickers and joined the dignitaries inside the Shrine for the activities and the breakfast. The other members were provided breakfast at the Aguinaldo Lodge Nr 5 temple nearby.

I sense a strong feeling of harmony and brotherhood still prevailing especially from among those of long acquiantances in the fraternity. I could still feel a sense of animosity from among those who felt hurt with the creation of the IGLPI. Let time heal wounds.

Pintong Bato Lodge Nr 3 is Now Open

ON RECENT EVENTS IN PHILIPPINE MASONRY
( Series Nr 3 )

PINTONG BATO LODGE NR 9 IS NOW OPEN

The first Volume of Recent Events in Philippine Masonry was documented by VW Ben Apacible and duly published in various web –sites or blog-spots. Series Nr 2 was posted last April 1, 2007 documenting the various assault or illegal raids by GLP GM YU supported phantom lodges to occupy the temples of IGLPI Lodges. This is the 3rd series on the same headline to further report on what is happening to Freemasonry in Cavite.

The Bacoor Masonic Temple Association Inc organized under existing Philippine Laws and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 08, 1951, is the registered OWNER of the 390 square meter lot and all properties therein under a TCT Nr R-040 of the Registry of Deeds , Cavite. The property was used by Pintong Bato Lodge Nr 51 for its meetings. It was also used for sometime by Molino Lodge Nr 352, Dasmarinas Lodge Nr 346, and the local Order of the Eastern Star.

Last December 09, 2006, Pintong Bato Lodge Nr 51 held its mandated annual election of officers during the December Stated Meeting of all Lodges. Elected officers were: WM Lamberto Binuncal, Sr Warden Jerry Murillo, Jr Warden Eleuterio Ulatan.. Unfortunately, DDGM Mario Marasigan FALSELY ACCUSED the elected officers to be attending the functions and activities of the IGLPI and reported them to the GLP GM YU who, WITHOUT DUE PROCESS immediately issued on December 21, 2006 EDICT 232C declaring them and many others as “clandestine masons” and deprived them of their lawfully elected positions. If you recall, the outgoing WM Erwin Punzalan, having been rebuffed in the election, declared earlier that those officers WILL NEVER BE INSTALLED. True enough, his boast proved true. Hence, on December 22, 2006 many members of the Lodge voted in a Meeting to sign and approved a Lodge Resolution to SEVERE their loyalty to the GLP and on January 05, 2007, JOINED the IGLPI because of the INJUSTICE.

The day before on January 04, 2007, elements of GLP masons broke the lock of the temple, search negatively for the lodge charter, took the lodge bible and tylers book and padlocked the temple with the assistance of PNP SWAT and local police. The following day, on January 05, 2007, Pintong Bato Lodge who now joined the IGLPI, broke the padlock and opened the Lodge for the purpose of holding the IGLPI SPECIAL ASSEMBLY in order to affiliate the Lodge to IGLPI. A confidential report was texted that a company of SWAT PNP in the province was ALERTED to be DEPLOYED to Bacoor because of the happenings at the temple. The following day January 06, 2007, elements of the remnants of Pintong Bato lodge who DID NOT join the IGLPI, broke the padlocks, met to elect new lodge officers IN THE ABSENCE of the CHARTER, and posted PRIVATE SECURITY GUARDS as TYLERS to prevent the entry of Pintong Bato Lodge Nr 9 members.

Peacefully and patiently, majority of the members of the Bacoor Masonic Temple Association Inc, who are now affiliated with Pintong Bato Lodge Nr 9 went to Court and filed a Civil Case for Injunction and Damages against the other group. Hearings were done in March, April, and May. 2007. There were delays caused by the process of finding amicable settlement, by filing of restraining orders and for inhibition of the judge. After resolving them and finding NO amicable settlement available, the trial moved on and eventually, the judge ruled and ordered on June 06, 2007 a Writ of Preliminary Injunction be issued:
1. Enjoining the defendants (the GLP phantom lodge) and/or other persons under their command or behalf from performing acts of exclusive ownership, possession and use of the properties of Bacoor Masonic Temple Association Inc… and,
2. Enjoining defendants to immediately restore plaintiffs to their right to use and manage the aforesaid properties

On June 07 and 08, 2007, the Sheriff of the Court served the Court Orders to the plaintiffs and the defendants. With the assistance of the local PNP police and the local Barangay officers, the Court Order was also served by the Sheriff to the Private Security Guards guarding and preventing MM of the IGLPI from entering the premises. The armed Security Guard was refusing the Court Order. The presence of the Local PNP police and Barangay officials prevented any untoward incidents. To manifest ownership, members of the Association destroyed the old padlocks, allowed the Security Guard to leave unmolested, and then secured the place.

By Sunday, June 10, 2007, the WM Bert Binuncal and SW Jerry Murillo announced that Pintong Bato Lodge Nr 9 is NOW OPEN.

I appreciate the concern of the PNP on peace and order conditions in Cavite particularly on the illegal assault or raid upon the temples of IGLPI WITHOUT the PRESENTATION of any COURT ORDER by the phantom lodge members. Since they REMAINED UNINVESTIGATED or UNPUNISHED by the GLP for their UNMASONIC ACTs, we have no recourse but to GO TO COURT.

In Response to the Report of the Grand Master Nr 2

IN RESPONSE TO THE REPORT OF THE GRAND MASTER
( Series Number 2 )

This is a continuation of the query, “ What was the report of the Grand Master?, and “ What was really approved at ANCOM ?”.

1. The Suspensions of WMs of GLP Lodges Nr 15, 17 and 269.. The WMs were suspended from office for NOT allowing admission into or refusing visitation to the lodges of the District Officers. The basis were: Article III Section 2(o) Part II Ordinances of the GLP Constitution on “Duties of a Lodge” which states , “ To RECEIVE the Grand Master or his representative, Past Grand Master, all elective officers of the Grand Lodge, District Deputy Grand Master, Grand Lecturers or Grand Lodge Inspectors, with Grand Honors on official visits”; Article XI Section 2(h) of a duty of the WM “ to guard against any infraction of its By-laws, the Constitution, Edicts, Ordinances and General Rules and Regulations of the Grand Lodge or the General Regulations of Masonry”, Article XI Section 3 that “ there shall be no appeal to the Lodge from the decision of the Master. Appeal from such decision may be presented to the Grand Master”; Article IX Section 2(i) Part I that the GM has the power “ to suspend the Master, or any officer of a Lodge, from office until the expiration of his term or until the next Annual Communication” Further , the report states “ suspension of the Master or any Lodge officer from office as provided by our laws and regulations does NOT require a Masonic Trial”.

COMMENTS:

2. The WM has the RIGHT to REFUSE ADMISSION as provided for in Article XI Section 1 ( c ) , 1 (d), 1 (e). There was a VALID OBJECTION for the hugh entourage to enter the lodge as there will be trouble that will DISTURB the peace and harmony in the Lodge if they insist to enter despite the objections for them to enter. The WM has a duty to preside at all meetings; and part of the meeting is to allow or refuse admission of any visitor. The TYLER has the power and duty to REFUSE admission and to seek approval of the WM for any visitor to enter the Lodge. It is the duty of the WM to preserve order in the Lodge. The entourage FORCED their way inside the lodge, DISTURBING the meeting, and so, the WM RECESSED the Lodge.

3. When the dignitary is ADMITTED into the Lodge, it becomes a DUTY to RECEIVE him with Grand Honors and customarily offer him the Gavel. In this regard, the WM DID NOT VIOLATE Article III Section 2 ( o ).

4. The provision of Article XI Section 3 applies to the decision of a WM that can be questioned or protested through an appeal by members to the GM. It is correct that the WM is answerable and accountable to the GM for all his acts and hence, it is the GM that refer the charge, create a Trial Commission and make diligent due process where the person charge could still make his appeal to the GM. But when the GM becomes the ACCUSER, PROSECUTOR AND JUDGE ALL at the same time, thence there is NO DUE PROCESS. Furthermore the DDGM has NO judicial power over the WM. So who can validate that the explanation of the WM was UNSATISFACTORY?

5. There is NO provision in the Constitution that Masonic Trial is NOT required. Article XI Section 4 states “ for the neglect or violation of any duty imposed by this Constitution, By-Laws, Edicts, Ordinances, Rules and Regulations, the Master shall be SUBJECT to DEPRIVATION OF OFFICE, SUSPENSION or EXPULSION BY THE grand Master”. The WMs were DEPRIVED of their office, of the exercise of their position WITHOUT DUE PROCESS. If there was a Trial, the verdict could be CASE DISMISSED, SUSPENDED FROM OFFICE, SUSPENDED FROM MASONRY OR FOR A TERM, EXPELLED. So what was the basis for a verdict of suspended from office?.

6. Article XVIII provides for CHARGES, TRIALS, AND PROCEDURES RELATIVE TO WM where Section 17 provides that “ charges may be preferred against the Master of a Lodge for violation of the Ancient Landmarks of the Order, the Constitution, Edicts, Rules and Regulations of the Grand Lodge, or of the By-Laws of his Lodge”. If so, why was there NO TRIAL? Of course, the GM can exercise his powers to suspend or expel or deprive the office ONLY after DUE PROCESS.

7. NO document was enclosed for members to validly and intelligently VOTE on the issue of suspension or of due process.

8. In the case of the WMs of Lodge 17 and 238, the TYLER did NOT ANNOUNCE any visitor. Therefore, there was NO visitation. Why was the WMs punished?

9. In Lodge 238, the Lodge Secretary VWB Efren Barcelona questioned the DGL on how he will install the GLI and who or where is his MC. The DGL left in disgust but did NOT complain and became inactive. VWB Barcelona was declared a “clandestine mason” later by Edict 232 s but RESTORED in an irregular process. Why was the Lodge WM NOT sanctioned.?

10. In Lodge 300, the Lodge member OBJECTED to the admission of the DDGM. The WM divided the house. The majority won and the DDGM was admitted. Why was the WM not sanctioned?

11. In other Lodges, the members LEAVE before or after the DDGM enters the Lodge. So why was the WM not sanctioned?

12. It was during those troubled months of June and July, that I replied to a text message of whisper from then RW Jimmy Gonzales. My reply of strongly worded whisper on the suspension of the WMs was disliked by GM Yu and he spent time at ANCOM against my text messages “not to mishandle the Cavite situation…”

CONCLUSION:

13. What was approved at ANCOM and is now a LAW is that “ the GM can PUNISH the WM WITHOUT DUE PROCESS “

Response to the Report of the Grand Master No. 1

Following are two (2) papers of a series of reactions on the Report of the GM so as to present the proper other picture which were missed by many brethren who had no access to the Info Kit of Bro Ben . I asked earlier on what was reported and what was really approved at ANCOM? We may have to REVISIT a little the past so as to arrive at a better understanding of the story. The info kit given at ANCOM are not readily well read or scrutinized or compared with other documents as TIME for discussion is very limited at ANCOM.. You can pass this on to other Masonic web-site or blog sites or e-groups for intelligent discussions.

IN RESPONSE TO THE REPORT OF THE GRAND MASTER
( Series Number 1 )

Earlier, I have asked , “ what was the Report of the Grand Master?” and “ what really was approved by the Grand Lodge in the last ANCOM?. A few days ago I received a bunch of documents distributed in the last ANCOM which I asked for from Bro Ben. As I went over the Reports, I cannot help but react from what is alleged in the Reports and to present the other side of the issue for information, comprehension and understanding.

1. Status of the Program. There was a GLP Five (5) Year Program mandated by the Iloilo ANCOM years ago and finally developed during MW EBDANE’s term. I presumed that Year 2 was the Program. Unfortunately, the GLP reverted back to the GM’s Program. Hence the mandate and powers of the Grand Lodge at ANCOM was DENIED as it was not able to insist what it wanted.- a MID TERM Program to provide for the development, growth and continuity of activities. Hence the Grand Lodge is NOT the supreme Masonic authority. This is the NEW LAW allowed by the Grand Lodge.

2. Challenges – Election for Junior Grand Warden in the Last ANCOM. The election for the JGW not only “caused some unnecessary confusion and discussion in the craft”., but resulted in the WALK-OUT OF SOME 700 DELEGATES; the questionable proceedings of determining the final Nominees particularly in the ABSENCE of DUE PROCESS for Nominees to explain the alleged complaints of electioneering; the failure to define the WORTHINESS of the Nominees; the issue of FAILURE of ELECTION as to the requirements of QUORUM; and the perceived machinations to favor a Nominee. There is NO sincere determination to have electoral reforms. NO electoral reforms were proposed or discussed in the last ANCOM. Hence, the efforts of VW Ben for a Special ANCOM just to address electoral reforms is DEAD and will remain DEAD.

3. The United Grand Lodge of the Philippines (UGLP). The UGLP Convention in Tacloban, Leyte on July 2006 was a reality and a product of organization. The Manifesto, the Declaration and formation of a Grand Lodge was news in the Masonic world web-sites.The region was visited by PGM YU later in November and offered to organize a Regional Grand Lodge thereat. NO Regional Grand Lodge was organized in Leyte- Samar. There is a law in the GLP Constitution for the organization of Regional Grand Lodge but the GM did NOT act. A Resolution to establish RGL was presented but tabled to the Committee on Revision of the Constitution in the last ANCOM. What a ploy to appease Leyte-Samar. The last thing I heard is a division of those insisting for a Grand Lodge and the other for a RGL. The result – a benign UGLP. The new LAW is that, the GM CANNOT create Regional Grand Lodges and cannot appoint Regional Grand Masters as it will DISMEMBER the Grand Lodge of the Philippines. This is the new LAW allowed by the Grand Lodge at the last ANCOM. It AMENDED the provision WITHOUT the process by the Committee on Revision of the Constitution.

RE: Why We Are Divided

Yes, kuya, Freemasonry offers a simple approach to harmony; to unity, to peace; to progress; where men in all his glory of creation eventually achieves godliness.Yet we failed.
Instead of brotherly love, we decree to cease all masonic communications;
Instead of relief, we decree to cease privileges, benefits, aid and comfort.
Instead of truth, we tell lies to protect name, honor and prestige.
Instead of justice, we abrogate all rights to due process
How can dictatorship and democracy coexist?
The elites do electioneering; the Constitution says NO; the brethren do not care !.
Masonic doctrine is misinterpreted and anomalously altered-- what then is to believe?
Since time immemorial, there was never unity even in the smallest social group.
The law of opposites? The black and white floors. The law of balance?
The culprit? --- We were given free will ... Our minds were made to think and told us how to act.

IGLPI Moves On- Signs Group Insurance Policy

Last April 21, 2007, MW Jaime V Bantolo, the Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Independent Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippine Islands; and Ms Carolina Cajes, the GREPALIFE Regional Manager based at Bacoor, Cavite; signed a mother policy contract for a Group Insurance coverage for qualified members of the IGLPI at the Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Lodge No 5 with the presence of the IGLPI Grand Officers.

The Plan covers a Life Insurance of P40,000.00; an Accidental Death Benefit addition of P25, 000.00; an Accidental Dismemberment Benefit ranging from ½ to the full sum Assured. The annual premium is P299.80. The Plan covers 18-64 years of age. An Experience Refund Bonus and a Collection Fee accrues to the Fraternity as an added advantage. This culminated the 3 months project of providing a replacement or alternative benefit program to IGLPI members after leaving the GLP.

A separate Seniors Benefit Plan is under process with the appointment of VW Kit Aquino as Chairman of the Seniors Benefit Plan. An initial investment of P400.00 per Seniors and P100.00 for the younger members will start-up the Plan. This had to be proposed as no life insurance provider provides group insurance coverage to those 65 years and above. Both Plans were approved during a District Meeting held in February 2007 at the Farm of WB Pol Toledo at Mendez Nunez.

Under the former Grand Lodge, a member gets P17,000.00 death benefit for a P200.00 annual contribution. A PM gets an additional P10,000.00 death benefit for a P100.00 annual contribution to the Grand Guild of Past Masters.

The IGLPI aim is to serve its members. The nagging issue of benefits became a top priority of an ageing member who kept on pressing on what the IGLPI can provide him at old age that he now expects to receive at death. In response to this was the search for the best plan for the members at the least cost and avoiding the pitfalls that caused other self-managed insurance plan to fail. We trusted the GREPALIFE being the Number 1 Group Insurance provider in the business,

To those who missed this opportunity, please get in touch with your lodge. Please pass to other members dispersed all over the world. Thanks.

We would like to inform the others of our progress. Though existing for 8 months, we have gain great mileage in our efforts to carve our designs in building our temple.

Re: Lost Sheep Program?

Sorry po. Let me acknowledged Kuya Fred Ferrer for bringing out the glphil issue of "lost sheep program" which was implemented by GLP MD4A DDGM Mario Marasigan through the creation of a Special Committee on Masonic Returnees. ANY DIFFERENCE? Ano ang lost sheep? Ano itong Masonic Returnees? Ano ang goals and objective of each? Tama si Kuya Fred. Who is LOST? UBOS na po ang whispering counsel. Wala ring pinagbago. BINATO po, NAGULANTANG!!! Times for soul searching. Times for purging.!!! LOST FOREVER???

I was informed that the firat thing MW Jimmy Gonzales did upon stepping in the halls of Plaridel Masonic Temple is to order the REMOVAL of the IGLPI pictures of Grand Line Officers posted in the walls of the Temple. A good sign of cleansing the Temple of the PGM acts SALAMAT po for the gracious act of brotherly love..

Now, could we enter and claim our PDDGM jewel and Diploma? our PDGL Jewel and Diploma, our PM jewel and Diploma which were already PAID?

Lost Sheep Program?

I remember the GLP Cavite District Region 4A Circular No 7 dated September 15, 2006 in which DDGM Mario Marasigan created a Special Committee on Masonic Returnees with DGL VW Totie Sepacio as Chairman. VW Totie mother lodge is St Augustine Lodge No 300. When they organized the Trece Martires Lodge (UD), he became the SW and in a few 4 months became the elected WM after it was constituted and became PM by December. The Trece Martires temple is located inside his property signifies his charity. As DDGM , I appointed him as GLI but he declined. By the next administration, he was appointed DGL.This Circular was issued 5 days after we formed the IGLPI. He called once and he said " wala namang nagbago". I thought he was convincing me to "return" Para tuloy ang turing ay "rebel returnee program" na may retraining, reintegration, rehabilitation, etc... WOW.

I know of many incidents na "ginagapang nila ang mga members namin para huwag sumapi sa IGLPI , may promise, may business deals, may cut-off business deals, may position , etc. The JGL told our LOdge SW na pirmahan lang nya ang document, ay WM na siya ng loya namin!!! WOW!, sabi ng SW namin, Dec na next month, ako ay ma elect na WM. Hindi sabi ni JGL, pirmahan mo na ito , WM ka na !!! Ganoon ba iyon? What masonic doctrinal anomaly!!! The document was a Statement of Retraction, and the appointment was to be the WM of the GLP phantom clandestine lodge ( the old lodge they are resurrecting that has NO CHARTER)
May WM kami na dedicated IGLPI who was summoned by a city official, talked with for 4 hours and being enticed with bussness sweeteners or cut-off deals just to lead his lodge to leave the IGLPI. NO WAY. How TRUE a MASON was our lodge WM in the upland south.

Another JW was told to sign a Statement of Retraction at balik GLP na siya agad dahil close daw kay GM at Approve agad !!! Our JW look down on him and said" ganyan ba kababa and tingin mo sa akin at walang paninindigan? May "balls" kami, ikaw ?

Another PDGL of ours was asked that since he is going to USA, balik GLP ka na dahil hindi ka makapapasok sa mga loya doon. Sagot, in my 20 years in Masonry hindi ako pumasok para lamang maka pasok sa loya ng USA. What mercenary motives? Kung si GM ay binagbawal ng GL California na pumasok sa California lodges WITHOUT the GM of GLC expressed approval and to be RECEIVED WITHOUT GRAND HONORS, but only as visiting brother!!!
SINO ang GUSTONG bumalik sa GLP? Come to think of it. If these are the basis to return ,what GLP are we unmasking???

The SHEEPs are now grazing in new fields led by good SHEEPHERDS who are drawing new designs in the tressleboards under a democratic Constitution of separation of powers and a just Judicial Code.We are now working on the Legislative Codes, the Election Codes, the Administrative Codfes, the Masonic Education System. We have packaged the letters for recognition. We are sailing with fair winds and following seas undeterred of any wrongful stigma of an illegal unjust edict as we fear not what men can do unto us.

Good day my brothers. If you feel lost, we will illumine the way; we provide you an alternative..BY the way, we have NOT lost any IGLPI signed member.Great and heavy ang members profile namin; the best of Cavite are here with us. Our sheeps are NOT lost. Please pass so the other GLP brothers will know that there is no need for such rogram.Harmonious and peaceful dapat tayo. You know brother what was LOST? 8 lodges, more than 60% of Cavite membership, the Cavite AASR Bodies, the Cavite Amaranth, the Cavite OES, the CaviteYork Rite, ALL because of 1 poor judgement- to win at all cost.

May TRUTH prevail, thence let history judged us.

EXPULSION

What we ask were Masonic Justice and due process where we are charged of an unmasonic offense or of violating the Constitution; thence the oppurtunity to answer the charges within a time frame, thence the creation of a Trial Commission, thence the Trial, the verdict, the appeal if any, and judgement. It hurts, when the ACACIA Insurance system of the GLP which went BANCRUPT with MILLIONs of pesos lost, took several ANCOM Resolutions to conduct investigation and when the verdict resulted in EXPULSION after a long hearing other than CRIMINAL charges to those involved to include the Board of Directors; then I feel the INJUSTICES done to the brethren who were deem "clandestine" and expunged for complying with the GLP Constitution on the standard of recognition where" the Grand Lodge shall have been established by a duly recognized Grand Lodge or by THREE or More regularly constituted Lodges". There was Masonic Injustice when only a few were declared 'clandestine mason" the following day after being seen at Kawit, Cavite when there were about 250 MM who attended. What selective injustice? No matter how they say it, they can never explain the acts or the basis or justification of their GM on the actual application of the term "clandestine". So they APPROVED his doctrinal adulterated meaning of "clandestine mason" as applied to Cavite.Mackay will rise from his grave !!I So what is wrong with meeting to discuss matters on forming a new Grand Lodge? Why did he NOT PUNISHED the UGLP of Leyte and Samar? Why did he NOT punished those who petitioned to organize the Grand Lodge of Mindanao? Hope to clarify things to Bro XXX. of Free Masons e-group.
Truth must prevail first, then judged

What Really Happened at ANCOM 2007?

PGM Franklin J Demonteverde wrote on the Cabletow Vol 76 Nr 1 p 22, " Let us cast the Light of Truth upon a stony way. Let us proclaim the Truth to the whole world, for falsehood is not its only enemy; silence is equally destructive. To be silent in the midst of a vicious assault is to be part of that conspiracy..."

What really happened at ANCOM 2007? What was reported by the GM? what was asked? whar was the answer? What voluminous documents were presented? what Trial Commission documents and judgement were rendered and presented? What were the issues and counter response on the Edicts 232s? Were there any substantive debate? What was this immorality disqualification charge against the DGM? Why the timing? I have read the 4 page " Reasons Why the ANCOM Should Nullify Edicts No 232, 232A to D ", and also the OPEN LETTER (unsigned) supporting the GM and his Edicts. What were really approved by the brethren at ANCOM? What were the Primodial cause and subsequent effects? What was the First Act and the succeeding Reactions?

We were not there and coiuld NOT participate in the discussion or debate. Bantolo et al are being blamed. We also blame the PGM YU for his first act for which Cavite Masons file a case of electioneering in 2003 election for JGW. We only hoped for the brethren to ask and find the truth.

Truly the truth will never come out in an hour of monopolized discussion.MW sirs, may I recommend a Grand Commission to find the truth on what led to the cracks in the GLP temple? on what led to the formation of UGLP and IGLPI? and the reforms to be proposed? and later hope for harmony like the English Ancients and Moderns. The GLP did this when it approved for the investigation of the formation of the Grand Lodge of Japan in 1957.

Unless, there is TRUTH, there will be NO JUSTICE !!! Hence our never-ending serach for Masonic Truth and Justice, our fight against LIES and DICTATORSHIP.

Again as PGM Demonteverde said, " INTOLERANCE is the bastard child of ignorance " Shakespeare said " There is no darkness, but intolerance". While Albert Camus said, " The evil that is in the world always comes from ignorance, and good intentions may do so much harm as malevolence, if they lack understanding".

We remain as MM duly made in a legally constituted Lodge of MM. We remain as BROTHERS. Mabuhay ang MASONERY!!!

Ltr After 2007 ANCOM

Dear VW Ben and our Brothers in Freemasonry,

Yes indeed, the GL had decided to approve all the acts of the GM YU. I do appreciate the heroic efforts of Bro Ben to dessiminate the facts on the issues at hand so that the brethren and lodges could discuss and make a decision on how their Lights will vote on the issues. If this did not happen, then i could only surmissed how GM YU was able to convince the delegates of his acts.

I read an OPEN LETTER distributed at the ANCOM on the reasons why they should support their GM. The defense rest entirely on honor and dignity of the GM, and protection of the GLP from dismemberment. The GM did defend his act after being the primodial CAUSE (the Electioneering Act in 2003 election for JGW thence the CONSEQUENCE of an Electioneering charge by Cavite Masons) the FIRST ACT. This eventually led to the vengeful act of GM YU to destabilize Cavite Masonry (the CONSEQUENCE - the DDGM Appointment);... until the formation of the IGLPI became a threatening act against the GLP; and he has to act to justify the ends. But we find his acts UNJUST.The GLP GM YU would never allow any of his acts to be disapproved. That is his nature. So by his able acts and control over the proceedings and filibustering over a captive audience, eventually the GL find GM YU's acts APPROVED WITHOUT any substantive debate. So mote it be.

Tama si Bro Rudy, keep them in the dark and feed them manure. The blind leading the blind. I have read the inuendos, the lies, the errors, the fallacious statements, the misleading statements, to convince the readers. The OPEN LETTER was UNSIGNED. What bravery to hide authorship! He did NOT even defend or define the "Clandestine mason" term and basis. So what indeed was approved? Hayaan na lang. So mote it be. No point to talk with a deaf and blind and closed mind.

On the other hand, the ELECOM , with 1 DISSENTING vote, ruled against an immorality disqualification charge against DGM Gonzales. Mabuhay kayo 1 dissenting voter, Whoever is behind this disqualification charge act, deserves to be unmasked. So mote it be.

Congratulations to MW Jaime Gonzales for his election and assumption of the Grand Oriental Chair. With his peaceful nature, may harmony return to Philippine Masonry.

Yes , Bro Ben and to those who believed in our cause, thanks a lot. IGLPI moves on, undeterred by acts of men. We will continue to practice democratic tenets which our Masonic heroes fought and died for with our separation of powers - executive to the GM, the legislative to the legislative Council of the DGM; and the Judicial powers vested on the Judicial Council chairred by the SGW. We empowered our Lodges. Our Grand Lodge is composed of the Subordinate Lodges and their members in good standing. Our Judicial Code subjects the GM and Grand Lodge or District Officers to a charge proffered by a WM with a Lodge Resolution signed by the members to such effect.Hence, for one, we have NO dictator in our Grand Lodge. Indeed we have DONE away with the NORM and INSTITUTION of DICTATORSHIP.of whatever brand or nature. We also did away with the NORM of LIES and DECEPTION as we believed in TRUTH and OPEN communication and plain dealing.

God bless you and all of us as we "SEARCH FOR THE LOST WORD" May Brotherly Love prevail and harmony bind us even with 2 Grand Lodges existing.

One Grand Lodge Only

One Grand Lodge per one country was true only for a moment. Thereafter the social man proceeds to disorganization process followed by a reorganization path. A lodge per city theory was invoked but once again, lodges were constituted.

When I chaired the GM EBDANE Special Plans Committee to develop a 5-year Plan for the GLP, we discussed lengthily, the evolvement of a lodge per city and per 3 adjoining towns concept. Studying the growth trends of these lodges, we found problems of territorial jurisdiction, same source and competition for membership, stagnation, declining quality of members, etc. We suggested that the Committee on Administration of Lodges should have a stricter and objective organizational criteria in determining where a lodge should be constituted or located. Even the feasibility study of creating Grand Lodges was recommended. Alas, the 5-year Plan is GONE.

History showed that many Grand Lodges constituted Lodges all over the world regardless of the existence of a Grand Lodge in that country. Each country becomes a fair game to be exploited. When the Americans came, they pushed aside the Spanish Grand Oriente Espanol established Lodges and won them over as affiliated lodges , otherwise declared them as clandestine lodges.
Many countries like Mexico, Brazil and even USA had as many Grand Lodges as there are States or provinces. The Philippines is no exeption. The Grand Lodge of Scotland has still 1 Lodge when it used to have 2 in the Philippines. The Prince Hall had a Mabuhay Lodge in Angeles City recognized by the GLP in 1997. There were 3 other Grand Lodges with Lodges in Japan when the GLP used to have a dominion; now the GLP has only 1 in Japan and 1 in Okinawa inspite of its proclaimed territorial jurisdiction.

When a member no longer feels happy in a Lodge; he can DEMIT, AFFILIATE, and/or be a PLURAL member of several other Lodges. IGLPI allows only DUAL membership. Now when you are NO longer happy or is to expunged from a Grand Lodge, where else could you go and practice the tenets of Masonry? Once a Mason, always a Mason !

When one dominates, it becomes complacent in the absence of a competitor, and suffered quality and poor service. When a competitor comes it became alert, progressive, and service conscious.See what happened to PLDT with Globe and Sun. See what happened to McDonalds with Jollibee around. Even the Grand Lodge of California is not happy of the administrative lapses of the GLP in its failure to respond to its request of CGS of members.
With IGLPI offerring a Democratic Constitution and Governance, many MM are attracted. This is a healthy sign for progressive Masonry to evolve. By being small, we served the members with passion. We are accessible. We respond.

The best thing to happen is for several Grand Lodges to exist in the Philippines- a Mindanao Grand Lodge; the UGLP in Visayas, the IGLPI in Southern Tagalog, a Grand Lodge in Luzon, a Grand Lodge in Metro Manila, a Grand Lodge in Bicol Region, etc..Lets think Masonry and include the remnants of the Grand Oriente Espanol among us.Even Guam, Northern Marianas and Micronesia should form a Grand Lodge.

IGLPI Judicial Code

Dear Brothers in Freemasonry,

The IGLPI moves forward with the interim approval of its Judicial Code. The judicial power of the Grand Lodge is vested in a Judicial Council chaired by the Senior Grand Warden. The Legislative Council is chaired by the DGM and it is vested with law making powers. This speaks of the democratic principles and of check and balance and of separation of powers. It manifest our ideals against dictatorship and the enormous concentration of all powers in one person. History tells us of our forbears and heroic Masons who fought for freedom and liberty. Thus we should exemplify the ideals which they fought and died for. Thus we also exemplify the tenets and cardinal virtues taught to us.

IGLPI JUDICIAL CODE INTERIMLY APPROVED

The Constitution of the Most Worshipful Independent Grand Lodge of the Philippine Islands (IGLPI), which was ratified during the First Grand Assembly on November 28, 2006 provides under Article II Section 5 for a Judicial Council, chaired by the Grand Senior Warden, and further tasked to draft the Judicial Code on Rules and Regulations on Charges and Trials.

The Judicial Council Chaired by RW Manuel L Carranza Jr (Chairman), RW Joseph A Capuyan (Vice-Chairman), VW Francisco G Supnet (Member), VW Federico M Aquino (Member), VW Bayani R Leoncio (Member), WB Danilo T Estapon (Member), and WB Gorgonio V Necessario (Secretary), met, deliberated, finalized and submitted officially on April 20, 2007, the Draft of a Proposed Judicial Code.

The IGLPI EXECOM, in its meeting of April 21, 2007 chaired by MW Jaime V Bantolo, interimly approved the Judicial Code for adoption by the IGLPI Lodges under its Grand Jurisdiction, after RW Nicolas G Ricafrente, Chairman of the Legislative Council favorably endorsed for its interim approval. The Judicial Code will be presented to the next Grand Assembly in November 2007 for official ratification and approval,

The Judicial Code laid down the legal and moral basis of the Masonic Justice System. It aims to render to every man his just due, without exemptions. It reminds us ever to walk and act as a just and upright Mason ever to be “on the level”. It calls to mind the Landmarks XIII, XVII, and XXII. The Judicial power of the Grand Lodge is vested in a Judicial Council.

The Judicial Code contains provisions on its organization, proceedings, charges and trials, preliminary investigation, Trial Commissions, judgement, appeals, reversals and restorations, A salient point is that, charges against the incumbent or Past Grand Master and any elective or appointive Grand Officer, Regional or District Grand Officers could be proffered over the signature of an incumbent Worshipful Master accompanied by an officially approved Lodge Resolution. The decision of the Judicial Council shall be effective and executory as of its date, subject to review by the Grand Assembly which may confirm, modify or reverse such decision.

An Edict will be forthcoming to announce this important event..

Re: Neutrality and Harmony

Was it former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher who said that , "we should not stand on the middle of the road, the vehicles on both side will run us down...". Days prior to and during the EDSA Revolution of 1986, our civilian friends kept on telling us to take sides as to stay neutral will not make us a hero. Only the winning side will declare you a hero. The winning side is the side of truth, of justice, of good, of freedeom.

When elders told us to wait out the term of GM YU, it was to admit defeat for truth, for justice, for freedom, for morality. It was to tolerate his acts and suffer in silence. It was to take a vacation from Freemasonry, from friends and brothers, from meetings, from conferrals and rituals. It was to see our brothers suffer the injustice. It was to suffer humiliation from those who are not in fidelity to a covenant. It was to accept the corruption of rules. It was to tolerate unworthiness and accept unqualified leaders. It was to allow the reforms to go to naught. It was to let the fraternity slide down from the original aims of Masonry. It was to accept Masonic Doctrinal Adulteration.

We had a rough and rugged journey in the IGLPI with a despidida of EDICTS 232 and follow on Orders from the Appendant Bodies and other Suspension Orders following our wake so that " no more remembrance maybe had of us..." We are now sailing with fair winds and following seas. We can meet each other " on the level" .Under different Grand Lodges we will remain as BROTHERS. Let it be a good start. From here, we will have to redraw new designs in the trestleboard against DICTATORSHIP, INJUSTICE, IMMORALITY, UNTRUTH. Later we may navigate in the same waters

ONLY the Grand Lodge can ASSERT its SUPREME authority over the acts of the GM YU. May the GLP UPRIGHT itself and protect Masonic MORALITY, JUSTICE, TRUTH, BROTHERLY LOVE .May your ANCOM enshrine the true Masonry we seek of. We admire the many Masons who stand up and be recognized as the true defenders of Masonic Morality.

By the way will ANCOM 2007 accredit the GLP GM YU created phantom Clandestine lodges ( those lodges WITHOUT Charters; whose leaders are SFND, expelled. delisted, absentees; meeting elsewhere; doing doctrinal anomalies and irregular rituals ) ?

Pintong Bato Lodge NR 9 is Now Open

ON RECENT EVENTS IN PHILIPPINE MASONRY
( Series Nr 3 )
by Jaime Bartolo
